Mccallum at UWL

Jeff Mccallum is back in France for the 4th time, shaping at UWL factory.
This time Jeff brings seven (yes, 7) new models.
Jeff Mccallum is just 28 but has a huge background already. He started working on surfboards in 2001 and has since shaped around 1600. He first started sweeping up and packing boards for Chris Christenson and then worked for him for over three years learning every aspect of surfboard building. Now he does all the boards by hand, in-house, under his roof.

Until about four years ago, he did every step himself but he has now a highly skilled and experienced team working with him, that all together have more than 100 years of surfboard manufacturing.
Jeff gets most of his influences from names like Chris Christenson, Skip Frye, William Riedel, Larry Crow, Bob Simmons, George Greenough and has been working a lot lately with Joel Tudor and his label Kookbox

If you're interested in getting one of his amazing surfboards visit http://www.mccallumsurf-france.com/

Mccallum

It's not new that Jeff Mccallum is one of my favorite shapers out there. His boards are insane and he is always capable of surprising me with his work. His boards stand out of the common alternative scene and are shaped with just one thing in mind... Performance!
Jeff will return to Europe at the end of the summer, so better start thinking what you want.

In the meantime, here's some great photos by Garret Highhouse (except photo 2 of Mitch Abshere by Mark Choiniere)

New Fish

This is a fish that I designed for small to medium surf, In my opinion a fish should be small and this one is really small, 5'5"and under the ideal size is 5'. It has a flat bottom with edge all the way around to increases the glide in small stuff, and cut Away Keels to loosen it up. 5' 23" 3"

QuaggII

This is a redesigned version of the original Quagg. Designed to be ridden sightly shorter than the original 2"-3". Has a slightly wider nose, and a round squash tail. New Stuff from Mccallum

Algumas modelos novos do Jeff Mccallum. Fantásticas como sempre.
New models from Jeff Mccallum. Great stuff as always.

8'7 Pintail Gun with Quad fin set up! (Jeff's personal). Made for serious surf.

New Model - The 1954
A mix of a Simmons, quad and hull.
Jeff call it the 1954, the yearBob Simmons died.
(Notice the mix of sanded and polish bottom)
Another great board (missed the name).
Again the same mix of finish. It gives the board an amazing and very unique look.
And a new rad Spoon, with a swallow tail, and cut away keels. Insane!

The Green Quagg

Estou a sonhar!
Bom trabalho pessoal!
F. eu quero testá-la!!!

The mail brought a really nice surprise to start my weekend well, F. Mccallum Quagg.
I must confess, it’s the most amazing surfboard I ever got. Umbelieveble! I immediately fall in love for that outline and those rails. Must be amazing on a good wall. That tail push us to get some barrels, get out flying and make a power turn throwing water everywhere! I’m dreaming. Jeff, I want one!
Jeff really knows his way. No wrong curves just soft transitions and amazing details.
And UWL also did an amazing work. That glassjob is perfect, no faults. Probably the best tint I’ve seen. Great work guys.
I want to try it.
