NPJ Quartet

Although Neal Purchase Jnr has gained recognition with his 2+1's, I will start from one of his latest designs and the one getting more attention all over the web right now: The Quartet.

Instead of writing bull$%# here, let’s just use Neal own words:

“The Quartet, good in ALL conditions, I surf faster, carve harder, and get way deeper. Ha! My knees are actually sore from the G's goin' thru carves. No spinning at all. After two years now of constant development, the Quartet has settled into a groove! Enough said!” full text HERE

A mix of a Simmons, quad and hull.

Jeff call it the 1954, the yearBob Simmons died.

(Notice the mix of sanded and polish bottom)

Another great board (missed the name).

Again the same mix of finish. It gives the board an amazing and very unique look.

And a new rad Spoon, with a swallow tail, and cut away keels. Insane!

Better photos of my new toy

Finalmente tive oportunidade de tirar umas fotos melhores á minha DK, entre ventos fortes e chuva.
Tenho de dizer que o DJ Kane fez um excelente trabalho, a prancha está fantástica e saiu tal como esperava. Agora é só aguardar pela oportunidade de a colocar na água e comprovar todas as qualidades deste shape.
Desta vez optei por um acabamento mais simples, sem cores ou polimentos e medidas algo conservadoras pois o objectivo é experimentar o design e trabalhar nele com o DJ, ajustando o shape na sua próxima viajem a Portugal. Simples e eficaz, é isso que interessa!
A BoardCulture merece também um elogio pela excelente laminação. O resultado é uma prancha com uma excelente relação resistência/peso. Por falar em peso… a prancha é muito leve e quase voava no meu jardim!



Finally got the chance to take some better pictures to my DK. Strong winds and rain didn’t help!Have to say that DJ Kane made an excellent job, board looks amazing and it’s just like I expected. Perfect! Now just have to wait to take it for a ride and check for myself all the qualities of this design.
This time went for a simple finish, no colours or polish and conservative dims because the objective is to experiment the design and work on the dimensions with DJ next time he is in Portugal. Simple and effective that’s what matters!
BoardCulture also deserves a compliment for their work. Lamination is very good, solid but light.
