Uma das coisas que mais aprecio no trabalho do Alexandre da Barrel Surfboards, é não estar preso a um único template e ser capaz de inovar e criar pranchas adaptadas ás necessidades do utilizador. Um bom exemplo é esta Fish, Lombok Spéciale, desenhada para uma surftrip a Lombok.

One of the things I like most about Alexandre, from Barrel Surfboards, work is the fact that he isn't stuck to just one template and his ability to innovate and creates surfboards that fulfil the needs of his user. A good example is this fish, Lombok Spéciale, shaped for a trip to Lombok.

Alexandre, um arquitecto de Bordéus leva a sua criatividade do atelier até á sala de shape. Aí o rigor dos seus projectos arquitectónicos traduz-se em linhas harmoniosas e fluidas desenhadas num bloco de foam e que captam a nossa atenção e nos levam a sonhar com as outras linhas, aquelas que desenhamos na parede de uma onda.
Com a marca Barrel Surfboards, Alexandre, produz algumas pranchas fantásticas entre os géneros Fish, Twins ou Quads, Eggs e Single Fins. As linhas fluidas e perfeitas bem como o enorme cuidado com os acabamentos, coloca a Barrel ao nível do que de melhor vem da Califórnia. Afinal, Bordéus não é só terra de bom vinho!

Alexandre, an architect from Bordeaux takes his creativity from the atelier to the shape room. There the rigor of his architectonic projects translates in to harmonious and fluid lines drawn on foam, which capture our attention and makes us dream about the lines we draw on a wave.
Under the label Barrel Surfboards, Alexandre shapes some fantastic boards from Fishes, Twins or Quads, to Eggs and Single Fins. The clean and perfect lines along with the first quality finishing puts Barrel Surfboards right next to the best work done in California. After all, Bordeaux isn’t only about good wine!
